Southwestern Look for Mojo Monday

Hello, I guess I have been MIA again from my blog, sorry it has been hectic and then I also got sick.
Today I have a card to share with you that I made for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch #322.  I love the way it turned out.
A couple of weeks ago I got some Tim Holtz Distress Paints and started to play around with them creating some papers.  I should know better than to watch his videos because I have to have whatever he demonstrates, he is amazing.
The background paper is one I made using the distress paints. In person it has a bit of a sparkle to it because I misted it with Tattered Angels.
The colors reminded me of southwestern colors so I went with that theme.  I mated the background paper on dark purple to pick up the purple that is in there.
The copper strip across the middle I did using one of my MS punches, then added a double layer of ribbon.
I stamped the pot on vellum and heat it embossed it with brass.
I will add a sentiment later when I decide how I will use it, but all and all I am happy with how it turned out.
Thanks for stopping to take a peak.

I will follow you........

..................anchored with love.
Hello everyone, I have a project to share with you that I am very excited about.
As you all know one of the latest craze is chalkboard like art, I found the perfect thing for me to try it on in the last issue of Paper Crafts magazine.
In the magazine they did it on a clipboard, well I wanted to do it as framed art.

I have a grandson (well actually two)that is in the Navy and I thought his wife would like this framed to hang in their home.
I was very hard to take a good photo of this, I guess I should have taken the glass off so I would have such a reflection.   I hope you can read the words as they have great meaning, in case you can't here is what it says
"I will follow you my love,
wherever you may go to
the sunny beach or the stormy sea
you are my anchor and
forever will be"

It was quite a challenge to set this file up in the correct shape that I wanted.  I tried in both Silhouette Designers edition software and in Make the Cut software, I finally added up using MTC to create it.
Using a white Uni-ball Gel Pen I wrote on a piece of black poster board.  I used posted board because it was the largest piece of black paper I could find.  The anchor is on a piece of  10.5 x 13.5 piece of poster board.  After I wrote it with the white pen, I rubbed a piece of white chalk on it to give it more of a chalkboard look.
Here is a better picture showing the distressed chalkboard look.
In person it looks a lot more black.  Well I had to wrap it up and mail it to Maine because that is where they are living.  I was very nervous but it arrived safely :)
She was very thrilled with it, as I kind thought she would be.
I am so glad you stopped by, I would love to hear what you think of my project.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Frosted Christmas Card

Hello everyone, as many of you know I love to play along at Mojo Monday whenever I get a chance.  This week I was able to make a card following the sketch this week.
Here is my Mojo Monday #314 card.
I love the way this came out using non-traditional Christmas colors.  All the papers are from the CTMH paper pack Frosted.  The saying is a stamp that is on the Card Kit Workshop Frosted, there is a lot of goodies in this cardmaking kit.
The ribbon is very sheer and sparkly, I got it at a placed called SAS Fabrics that has a lot of ribbon and trim very cheap.  I added a bit of faux stitching around the edges.
Well that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you hop on over to Mojo Monday and enter your card as this week there is a prize.

A Few Christmas cards

Hello everyone, sorry it has been a while since I posted.
Today I have a few Christmas cards that I have made over the last few weeks to share.  Trying to get a little head start on them.
The first one is a very simple card, using paper from Recollections all season paper pad.  The holly was cut using my Cricut.

Here is a shaped card I made using Cricut Craft Room and the Artiste cartridge.  I printed the paper using my Imagine. I love the way it came out, very easy can be mass produced.
This one I totally scraplifted (can't remember from who. sorry)
It is all made using pearl white paper.  I cut the frame from the Artbooking cartridge, a couple of times and also from chipboard, so I could pop dot it.  I added a piece of acetate for the window, then punch a bunch of branches using the MS branch punch.  The bottom strip is also a MS punch that I wove some ribbon through.

This one I made using the papers from last years CTMH paper pack.  I love the papers in it ans sure wish I would have bought more of it.
The center ornament was cut using the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.
The colors are so much prettier in person.
The last one I made using the papers from this years CTMH Christmas paper pack called Frosted.   They also have a complete card making kit with this paper and it has everything you need to make 15 or so cards including stamps, if you want to check it out click HERE.This is also a simple one that could be made easily with many different paper combinations.
Wwll thank for stopping by and hope you enjoy my Christmas cards
Hugs!

A travel trailer

Hello everyone, I have something really fun to share with you today.
This is my first time making a 3D object using SVG cuts, and I am real excited about it.  I think I found a new love, to create these things.
We manage and live on an RV storage lot, so I thought this would be cute to make and display here at home.
Isn't it just the cutest thing?  I love all the details.  The original file was created to have it sit on top of a box, but I just wanted the trailer.  The file is called Camp Firefly, you should really go check out all the awesome cut files they have.
I wish I would have put some vellum on the inside of the windows, maybe next time.
The lights are brads that I colored with my Copic markers because I did not have any red ones.  For the Flamingo's legs I used a black twistie tie.
One last picture of the front window.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my little Travel Trailer.

A Fishy Birthday

Hello everyone, sorry for the little break in posting.  Hubby had shoulder surgery last week so things have been a bit out of sort around here.
I am in love with the way this one turned out.
I colored this cute little Whimsy Stamps digital image Gertie with my Copic markers, I colored the lips extra dark and then covered them with Crystal Lacquer.  I cut the fishbowl using my Cricut cartridge Create a Critter a couple of times then glued a piece of clear acetate to the bowl and pop dotted it over Gertie.  I added a few Fiskars ZingZ stickers as water splashes, I love these things for water.
Here is a close up of the fish bowl and Gertie.
The saying I stamped using a Rubbernecker stamp, go check them out they have some really cute stamps and sayings.  I stamped it onto Spellbinder die cut outs.
I searched and searched through my papers to try and find some kind of water paper or something to use as a background (probably spent about an hour+), then I saw this orange polka dot paper and it was PERFECT!  I had the blue/aqua holographic paper in my stash for a while and it all fit together.  Funny how sometimes you have something in your mind and search and search only to come up with something totally opposite that works out much better.
Well thanks for stopping by to take a peak on Gertie, hope you like her.

I will post this card on Make it Monday blog.

Blue, Orange & Pink

Hello, I have a card to share with you that I created following a past Mojo Monday sketch.
I love this color combination and the CTMH Claire paper pack is the perfect combination of these colors.
The butterfly is a coordinating canvas sticker.  I cut the banner ribbon using Cricut Craft Room and CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  Using CCR I was able to create a shadow for the banner.  I love to mat my cards and use shadows, I think it really makes things stand out.
The happy birthday I "wrote" using my sketch pens in my Silhouette Cameo.  I added a little faux stitching around the edge of the card.
Well that's it, thanks so much for stopping by, I will post this card on the Make it Monday blog.

Cardabilities Sketch Challenge

I love working with sketches, in fact I am not sure I could make a card without following one anymore.
This week on my Bloglovin feed I found a sketch challenge called
Cardabilities, this week it is sketch #82.

Here is what I came up with following that sketch.

The background paper is from Sassy Designs digital paper that I printed using my printer.  The half circle is vellum and I sprayed it with Tattered Angels and drug it around to make the swirls, then I embossed it with a Anna Griffin embossing folder.
I was so happy when I found the happy birthday stamp in my collection as it fit perfect on that rectangle.  It is a Stamper's Best stamp.
I cut the corners using my Cricut cartridge Picturesque.
I added some Cloud 9 epoxy buttons to the bottom, and that is it.
Thanks for stopping by, if you want to play along at Cardabilities you have till September 13th.

A Big Birthday Smile

I am so happy to be back and blogging a little more regularly, I am trying.
Today I have a card to share with you that I made for one of my great-grandsons that will turn 4 in November.
I used Create a Critter to cut out the dinosaur and palm tree.  I embossed the dinosaur and then the background with a cloud embossing folder. Then just for fun I added the googlie eyes.  I thought it fit perfect with the sentiment, but I can't remember whose stamp it was.
Thanks for stopping by, I will enter this card over at Sentimental Sundays.  This weeks challenge is birthday so that was easy for me.

Happy Campers

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well,
Today I have a quick card to share with you.  I hope someone you got to do some camping this Summer, if you did you will enjoy this card.
The papers are from a stack called The Great Outdoors, that I love using for male cards.
I stamped the bear and tent and then masked them and stamped the trees in the background.  I stamped another bear colored him and cut him out then pop dotted him on top.  I called the bear and then with my Copic markers.  Tried to add some "texture" to the bear sure hope it looks like fur.  The stamps are all from the CTMH Happy Camper set.
Thanks for stopping to take a look.

Pink & Sparkly

Hell, hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.  They Summer is over but it certainly isn't here in Arizona, we are still having 100 degree days.  Yuck, I am sure am ready for it to cool down.
Here is a bright gell well card I made, don't have a need for it right now but it will go in my stash box.
It has glitter on it so it is sparkly, so hopefully would cheer someone up if they were sick.  The butterflies and circles are Recollection stickers from Michaels.  The background paper I printed using my Imagine cartridge Better Together.  The edging is a punch.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peak.

Wishing you...............

Hi, I hope you are all enjoying your Labor Weekend.
Today I have a card I created using papers from the DCWV Lemon Flower stack.  I love the papers in this pack.  I was following a challenge where I had to use the colors, yellow - black - white, this stack of papers made it easy to get those colors into my card.
The sentiment is a Verve stamps and I love because it can be used for a few different occasions,  I cut the scalloped oval then put a white oval of pearl paper on top and then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.
I cut the flourish using a Spellbinder die cut.  Added some flowers I have had around here for a long time.
Thanks for taking a peak.
Hugs!

Happy Birthday Matey!

Hello all, I have a fun and quick card to share with you today.
This card was made using my Imagine and the Buccaneer cartridge.  I printed all the papers and the printed and cut the imagines.
Sometimes I have a hard time making a card for a young male birthday, this made it so easy.  I am a very happy camper when my Imagine and CCR are playing well together, and lately that has been the case.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.

Card using Tags

Hi, have a simple card to share with you today.
Recently I got my set of the Anna Griffin embossing folders, wow I love them.
I used one of the 5 x 7 ones for this card.
I used some s.e.i Ally's Wonderland die cut tags that I have had for a very long time.
I mounted those tags on a strip of white pearl paper, then added some sheet ribbon at the top.  That's it!
Thanks for stopping to take a peak, I love reading your comments.

Mojo Monday 308 - Round

Hello, as many of you know I like to play along at Mojo Monday whenever I can.  This week I loved the sketch and I opted to do the round version.   They can be intimidating but this one went together very easy.
Thanks to Michelle at Michelle my Belle who sets up these cuts files each week and shares them with us for free it makes putting these cards together pretty easy.
I started out to make this as a Christmas card because the background paper is from last years CTMH paper pack, but all my Christmas stamps are packed up for now I changed courses.  The background paper does not look that Christmasy so I changed into this, flower card.  The sentiment is a stamp from Rubbernecker stamps, the same set I used to make my Watercolor Card that you can see HERE.
The flower is a sticker from K&Company.
Well that's it, hope you like my card and get inspired to join Mojo Monday for their challenge.
Thanks for stopping by

Happy Birthday in the Round

Hi, I have a fun card to share with you today.
I bought this happy birthday round stamp years ago, but rarely use it.
After making this card I think I will have to dig it out more often.
I stamped it in white on the black and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I stamped a Gina K stamp in the center and embossed it with red.
The plaid paper is from the CTMH  Roxie paper pack.
Thanks you so much for stopping by, please let me know what you think of my card.

Watercolor Stamping

Hello everyone thanks for stopping by today.
A while ago I bought some watercolor stamps from Rubbernecker stamps. I finally got to try them out.
I used the Flowers in the Breeze stamp set for this card.
It is a 3 step stamping process to get this look.  I am really happy with the way it turned out for my first try and I am sure I will use them often.
The bow I cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  It is so much fun making paper bows so they match your papers exactly.
I hope you like my card, please let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Mojo Monday 305

Hello everyone, as many of you know I love playing along each week at Mojo Monday, unfortunately I don't get to do it as often as I would like.
This week I did get to play click HERE if you want to see the sketch I had to follow or if you want to play along.
Here is my card.
The papers are from Webster's Pages.  I got one of their grab bag like boxes a while back that was just full of all kinds of goodies, these papers are one of the things that was in there.  To carry out the dot theme, I embossed a piece of vellum with the Spot & Dots folder.  I also pop dotted the happy birthday oval.  Added some buttons with thin ribbon through them and that is it.
Thanks for stopping by and I love reading your comments.

I will link up my cards at the following challenges

Card & Magnet in One

Hello, glad you stopped to take a peak.
I have a card to share with you today that is kind of a card and a gift all in one.

All the papers were printed using my Imagine, plus I used several different Cuttlebug folders.
The center flower I picked up quite a while ago not knowing that it was a magnet.
When I assembled this card I put a piece of magnet material behind the scalloped circle so this magnet flower would stick to it.  Once in a while I come up with a clever idea, LOL.  It is not a card that could be easily mailed because it does stick out a bit, so I will have to save it for an occasion that I can hand it to the person or make a envelobox.  Not sure what occasion I will use it for but when I decide I was thinking of stamping the sentiment on a small piece of paper and placing it between the petals on the flower.

Thanks for stopping in, I would love to hear what you think of my magnet card.

Blue & Yellow Checked

Hello everyone glad you stopped by.  I just realized something, I have the hardest time coming up with a title for my post.  LOL
Well this one spells out exactly what this card it.
I made this using these papers I have had for a very very long time.  I bought this paper pack from D.O.T.S when I first started making cards over 16 years ago.  the company DOTS is now known as Close to my Heart.  I love the contrast of the bright blue and yellow.
The banner I cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  The center area and blue strip I used my new Anna Griffin Cuttlebug embossing folders.  I love them, I know they came out a little while ago but I just got them.  I also cut the label using Art Philosophy and stamped it with a Gina K stamp.

Thanks you so much for taking the time to stop by and I would love read your comments.

Berries and Cream Papers

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well.  I feel terrible that I have neglected my
blog so.   I decided to sit down type up and schedule a bunch of posts
of the cards and things I have been making.
Today I have a card I made using the papers I printed using my Imagine and the Berries & Cream cartridge.  I really love my Imagine machine and the papers
I can print, it is just such a shame when mine dies that is it, well I will cross that bridge when I get to it.  I do have a Silhouette Cameo so I can do print and cut there also.
Sorry, :'} now on to the card.
I love how these papers look together.  Sometimes I have a hard time putting different patterned papers to together, but this time I think I got it right.  I embossed the pink layer with my Cuttlebug folder Decorative Tile.  I cut the scalloped circle and the regular circle using Cricut Craft Room Basics,  The ribbon/banner I cut using CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  I added some cord and put it through a CTMH ribbon slider.
Well again I want to say thanks for stopping by and thanks to those that have been patience with me regarding posting on my blog.

Easel Card

Hi I have a quick card to share with you today.
Although I do not make them often I do like the easel style card.  They are so versatile is the style that you can make them.
For this one I chose to have the top stick out and not be the same size as the bottom part.  Does that make any sense???? LOL
OK, now that you see it I guess you can figure out what I was talking about.  The top part with the flowers is a K&Company Tim Coffey die cut and so is the dragonfly.
The bottom where I stamped the sentiment using a Gina K stamp I cut out using a Spellbinder.  The check paper I printed using my Imagine.
Well I told you it was a quick post, that's it.
I am grateful that you stopped by today, have a great day.

Laughing Lola Birthday

Hello all, Laughing Lola that is the name of the CTMH paper pack where all the papers came from to make this card.

I love the color combination and patterns that are in this paper pack.  The black strip along the left side is Washi tape.  I bought Washi tape a long time ago and am trying to make myself remember to use it.
The happy birthday I cut using my Silhouette Cameo, I love using their software because you can easily make a shadow layer for any cut.

Be sure and check out the CTMH Laughing Lola paper pack, it also comes in a Card Making Kit and a Scrapbooking Kit.
Today is also the day that the new Cricut Artbooking cartridge in available for purchase.

Well thanks for stopping by, I love to read your comments.
Hugs have a great day

Dream Pop Birthday

Hello all, I hope you are having a fabulous week and not too busy getting all those kiddos back in school.

I have a card to share with you today that I made following this week sketch at
I made it using the papers that came in the CTMH Dream Pop paper package.  It was a special that was run a few months back, but I just know got around to using some of the papers in it.
All the papers are from that pack, which is nice and bright colors.  The thing about this card that I am most excited about is the "stitching" around the larger white circle.  It is actually stamped using the CTMH stamp set Stitched Together.  These are straight line stamped but I curved them onto my acrylic block to match the circle.  It makes these stamps so much more versatile  and was not hard to do at all.  After I stamped the stitching on I embossed it using my Cuttlebug.  I stamped happy birthday using one of the stamps from the CTMH Joyful Birthday set.  I used a piece of colored binding tape and added a Ribbon Slide to it.

Well that's it, there is still time left, hop on over to Mojo Monday and join in the fun.

And remember tomorrow the new Cricut Artbooking Z1906 cartridge kit from CTMH comes out.  It you like making layouts and/or mini albums this is a must have cartridge.  Just visit my website tomorrow and check it out.  Thanks

A few Birthday Cards

Since I am so far behind in posting I thought I would share a few birthday cards I have made lately.
All the cards have been made following sketches each week on the Cricut message board
link to this weeks challenge.  If you have a Cricut we would love for you join in the fun.  I can not tell how doing this challenge over the last 4 years how much my card making improved.
The first one, the papers were all printed using my Imagine and the Lori's Garden cartridge.  The dragonfly is a sticker I have had for sometime in my stash.
Next is one with a newer technique that I tried.  I stmped the wine glass imagine on 3 pieces of paper in descending size then matted them with black paper.
I wanted to give it a vintage type look so I Google vintage paper and found this one.
Pennants seem to be pretty popular to use on card right now, so I strung these pennants cut from Art Philosophy on some twine.  I also printed the papers on this one, last week Sassy Designs had a sale on their digital paper packs.  They were just 24 cents each, although I do NOT need more papers I could not pass up this bargain.   It is nice to have these papers ready to print in whatever size you need, plus they are easier to store. :/.
One last one for right now.  Quite some time ago I bought some Washi tape (just had to have it) and rarely used it, so I used it to make the background of this card.  I added some flowers I made and a stick pin behind them.  Not sure what this card will be used for so will add a sentiment at that time.

Well that is it for now, hope to be back in a couple of weeks and share some more cards I have made.  We will be leaving on vacation this weekend so not sure I will get a chance to post before then.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful 4th of July with family and friends.

Adventure Birthday

Hi, wow another post LOL.  One of the challenge blogs I love to do each week is Mojo Monday.  This week in Mojo Monday #300 and so they are having a big celebration and giving away a lot of prizes, so if you get a chance pop on over and make a card following this sketch
Mojo #300

Here is my interpretation of the sketch.  All the papers I used are from the CTMH Tommy Paper pack.   I also used some of the canvas stickers from the coordinating sticker pack.
The happy birthday was cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge as was the banner cut.
Also in case you haven't heard, CTMH came out with a new Cricut cartridge that will be available for purchase on August 1st.  It is called Artbooking and is great for scrapbooking and also has many cuts for making mini-albums.

Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed my card.

Daddy has my Heart

Well hello all, hope you are enjoying the summer so far.  It has been unbelievable hot this year in Arizona.  Our monsoon rain storms have been building over the mountains over the last few days so that means we should have some storms soon.  It cools us down however it does make us humid.

One of the reasons I have not been posting too much we had our Granddaughter-in-law and 2 year old great-granddaughter staying with us while Miss Emma's daddy was deployed on a submarine.  As you an imagine it is hard to get much done with a very active 2 year old running around.
One of my other granddaughters saw this somewhere so I told her instead of buying it I would make one for Emma to wear when she saw her Daddy.
This was my first project using iron-on vinyl and I loved it!  I think I have a new addiction, Miss Emma may get many new shirts.  LOL
It is hard to see in the picture but the anchor and swirls on the heart are silver glitter vinyl.
I used Silhouette Design Studio to set up and cut the file.  I played around with different fonts till I got ones that I was happy with.
I tried to get a picture of Miss Emma wearing it but she would not stand still and kept turning away from the camera.   The poor child has had a camera in her first since the minute she was born so now that she is a bit older she is now very cooperative.
Well now they have moved back to Maine to be together as a family, so it sure is lonely and quiet around here. :(, we miss them terribly but I know her Daddy is enjoying her.

Thank you for stopping by today and hope you all have a very Happy 4th of July, be safe and Gold Bless the USA.

Using Glubbers

Hi!  Back again to share another card I made.
This was my first time using Glubbers by Cosmo Cricket.
They are actually very large glue dots that you can wind thing up to make embellishments.  I love the idea of them, but I think I picked the wrong ribbon to use as I had some trouble getting it to stick, or I just touched them too much putting it on.
The papers are all from k*i Memories paper stack.
The stamp is a CMTH stamp.

Thanks for taking a peak at my blog today.

Teal & Purple Combination

Hi I made it back with two posts in one week!  Yeah!

I love this color combination, I think the teal and purple look so pretty together.
I hand cut all the square so that they would all line up correctly.  The papers are from a DCWV paper stack.  I cut out ovals and stamped it using a Gina K stamp, then added some crumbled ribbon that I laid flat.
This is a 4 by 9 card and fir into a #10 business envelope.

I am glad you stopped by, I would love to read your comments.

Bright Buttons

Hello everyone, I am so trying to get back posting regularly on my blog and thank those of you that have still come around when I do get a chance to post.

The papers are from a K&Company stack.
I added some matching buttons and tied some bakers twine in the middle.
The cuts are made using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to get some more cards posted later this week.

Wedding Card

Hello everyone, hope you have great plans for this Mother's Day weekend.
I have a wedding card to share with you that I made for my niece that is getting married and I am unable to attend so I wanted to make something special.
I can not take credit for this card as when I saw the card on the Team KNK blog I knew that was the special card I had to make, so it is totally scraplifted.
The cut files are all designed and set up my a lady that goes by Bird.  She
is so very talented and extremely generous as she shares are her files for FREE, so make sure you go check out her blog.
My card is pretty much a replica of hers except that I added a touch of pewter color as that is the wedding color.  Everything was cut using Bird's files, Make the Cut software and my Cameo.
Just like Bird I used a variety of paper textures, mostly pearl white textured papers.  I embossed parts of the cake to give it a little decorative look.
Here is a close up of the flowers & leaves that are all made from vellum.
I carried the same theme to the inside.  I printed the verse on vellum using my Canon printer.  The ink does not dry immediately on vellum so the second it came out of the printer I sprinkled it with pewter/silver embossing powder and heat embossed it.  I did the same thing on the small saying on the front of the card.
I added a couple stickers to dress up the inside.
Since this card was a bit bulky and it had to be mailed it would not go into a regular envelope so I made an envelope box for it's travel from Arizona to Chicago.
Here it is all tucked away in it's envelopbox.  I place this into a padded envelope and added some foam and other packing to make sure it arrived safely.
I got word that it did arrive at it's destination safely. :).
In case you are no familiar with Make the Cut software you should check it out HERE,  It is by far the best die cutting software out there.
Well thank you for stopping by, I would love to hear what you think about
my wedding card.
Hope everyone has a very Happy Mother's Day.

Party Till the Cows..................

........................Come Home!
Hi everyone, I have a card to share with you today that I made for my Granddaughter (in-law)that just turned 21 and was looking forward to it.
I am thrilled with how it turned out.
I cut the cow using my Cameo and an image I bought in the Silhouette store.  I did a print and cut then covered "her" with Crystal Lacquer.  The barn cloud were also purchased in the Silhouette store, I love just being able to go there and get what I need and immediately use it.
I Cuttlebugged the barn with the distressed stripes folder then inked it a bit.  The background paper was computer generated.
I typed the saying using the Design Studio and then used my sketch pens to write it and then went back and cut the cloud around it.
Here is a close up of the little cow.

Now on to the inside.
I did the saying the same way I did the one on the front of the card.
I just think this card came out so cute and our granddaughter loved it and got a chuckle out of it.
Well thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit my blog.  I would love to hear what you think of my card.
